I broke up with my ex about 3 years ago and while I am over the really depressing part of the breakup I do still think about my ex once in a while and my love for her has since not died. Strangely I have not contacted her in all this time because I am just afraid of being hurt and would rather keep quiet. But I still believe that she was 'the one' and every woman I have seen or met since her has never been the same. I suppose I just need to get over it, but here is the deal... True love never dies even if you 'break up'... The connection between too people and the love may never ever die... I am not saying it would stay that way between both people, but one person may have that feeling for the rest of his/her life... while the other may completely forget and not have any feelings left. This is normal The feelings and energy of love can last an infinite amount of time even if two people are not "together" anymore... this is not uncommon. Sometimes people get back together after 5,10 or 20 years. Anything is possible. But personally I think it is a mistake to keep hoping to get back with an ex forever because then you can never move on and be happy with someone else. So in summary, the emotions of love never leave on a cellular level... they will remain with you forever and you will occasionally be reminded of them. So the best thing you can do is practice acceptance and positivity when they come about. The memories are not a 'bad' thing and at some point in the future they may be revitalized. __________________
